Victoria Falls Safari Activities

Chobe Day Trip – 10 hours – U$170
A full-day tour from Victoria falls takes you on a boat trip on the Chobe River and a game drive in Chobe National Park. The park is well known for its elephant and lion populations. Transfer from Victoria Falls is included, as is lunch at the Cresta Mowana Lodge.

Zambezi Game Drive – 3/10 hours – U$70/U$140 + U$15 park fee
A game drive through the Zambezi National park, upstream from the Victoria Falls on the River. A park home to lots of game including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, kudu, zebra and hippo. You may also encounter eland, sable and other game – with possible sightings of lion and leopard, if you’re lucky! The bird-life is fantastic and you can stop along the river for drinks and sightings of river views. The Ilala Palms and baobabs are dotted all along your drive. The drive is an hour and takes place in the mornings and afternoons with snacks and drinks suited to the time of day. A great activity to do and because Vic Falls is a town in a national park, it’s just down the road from most hotels and accommodation.

Zambezi Walking Safari – 3/10 hours – U$70/$140 + U$15 park fee
A professionally guided walk through the national park. A wonderful opportunity to get to know the natural flora and fauna guided, on foot, among the wildlife living there.

Siduli Hide – 3 hours – U$60
A completely unobtrusive, authentic way to view animals up close and personally. The hide is built like a termite mound, with a viewing window looking out towards the waterhole at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. Guests are safely hidden inside, watching the animals coming down for a drink. The wildlife walk a few feet from the hide, enabling close observation of elephant, kudu, buffalo, impala, baboon, crocodiles, warthog, marabou storks, vultures and more. A special experience where the animals can be viewed completely unaware of human presence.

Night Drive & Bush Dinner – 5 hours – U$137
A night drive is a thrilling experience, with all the smells and sights of the wild night life. This is an opportunity to see nocturnal animals in their natural environment, including large predators like lion and hyena. You will enjoy a 3-course barbecue dinner and drinks around a campfire before returning to your hotel. Transfers to and from your hotel are included.

Rhino Game Drive – 4 hours – U$100
Through the Mosi-oa-Tunya Park, in Livingstone, Zambia, this drive takes you along approximately 12 km of riverbanks of the upper Zambezi. The park is home to a small protected rhino population, with this being the highlight. Other game that inhabit the national park are: Buffalo, hippo, zebra, giraffe, crocodile and antelope. There are also elephant in the park, who visit, swimming, from across the river. The Victoria Falls is within the park, on the Zambian side. Trips run (from Livingstone) in the morning and the afternoon, with the drive lasting 3 hours.

Elephant Encounter – 3 hours – U$100
The Elephant Encounter affords guests the opportunity to unobtrusively observe some of the biggest personalities in Africa, in a pristine wilderness environment overflowing with raw natural beauty. Guests spend time and connect with elephants in the most positive and natural way possible.

Horse Riding – 3/5 hours – U$85/U$125 + U$15 park fee
Seeing wildlife from horseback is a MUST DO. As a rider there is no better way to see animals close-up. The animals treat you more like one of them, allowing you to get really close and they are comfortable with the horses resident to the area. There are beautiful stretches of ground in which to have a canter and the ability to slowly pass by flora and fauna with a close eye on things. To stop and observe, meander past impala or warthog grazing, or canter along the river’s edge. It’s a special way to game view – often up pretty close to elephant, buffalo and take in the scenery like no other.

Birding Safari – 3 hours – U$75 + U$15 parks fee
With 415 species of bird resident to Victoria falls and the surrounding region, it is well worth a birding safari for serious twitchers and bird enthusiasts alike. The most popular time to go is the early morning trip and tea and coffee and other refreshments are provided. You will be driven through the national park and be on foot exploring a number of different habitats in and around Victoria Falls. It is a half day safari, lasting 4 hours.

Fishing Safari – 3 hours – U$108 + U$10 park fee
Suited for people of all experience levels, Zambezi river fishing safaris are run by a number of different operators from 3-hour trips to full days and even multiple day trips. There are over 75 fish species found in the River – Barbel, Upper Zambezi Yellowfish, Bream and Tilapia being a few. The renowned African fighting fish – the Tiger fish – is the most sought-after. If you love fishing or want to try something new with the ability to be on the river for the day.
